Foresight Future Flooding Exec Summ 2004

A major study of future flood risk commissioned by the UK government in the early 2000s.  The study considers are range of growth and change scenarios for the UK and projects the likely flood future flood losses of each.  Climate change is expected to lead to a significant growth in flood risk in the UK but socio-economic change, especially land use change and rising living standards, are expected to be the major contributory factor in rising flood damage potential, which is steep in some scenarios. The report contains a range of interesting graphics demonstrating the spatial distribution of flood impacts under different assumptions.
